Our Story

Decker Custom Woodworking was founded in 1999 by Adam Decker. What originally started at the family farm quickly grew into our first location in 2001. Then, in 2007, we expanded to a second, much larger location, which became our main site at 2715 Tiffin Road, Fremont, Ohio 43420.

Our skilled craftsmen utilize their expertise to produce unique handcrafted wooden items like furniture, cabinetry, doors, staircases, bars, live edge decorative pieces, custom moldings to match missing or broken ones or unique designs, and architectural elements.

We source old-growth trees, then custom sawmill them at our facility, ensuring that each felled tree is used to its maximum potential with little waste.

The wood then is kiln-dried in our specialized oven that uses controlled temperature, humidity, and airflow to remove moisture from the lumber. This process makes the wood more stable, durable, and less prone to warping and cracking, making it ideal for woodworking projects.

At Decker Woodworking quality is paramount, which is why we cut and dry all of our wood then scrutinized before it is transformed into fine handcrafted products.

Our Services

Hardwood Lumber

We stock a wide variety of lumber, including grade sawn (molding grade), live edge, and utility grade, typically sawn to order for projects, barns, trailer decking, and more. We have 200,000 board feet of dried lumber in stock, and we can provide custom cuts according to your requirements.

Sawmill and Kiln Drying

We offer a full of lumber milling and drying services. Recently, we added a high-production sawmill with advanced hydraulic log handling, a powered saw head with setworks, fine-adjust outriggers, and advanced controls that provides us quality, repeatable results.

Commercial Work

We regularly handle commercial projects, ranging from a single room or components to full-scale millwork packages. Large-scale projects do not intimidate us. If top-quality look and function is what you, give us a call!

Custom Doors

Our doors are custom-made to fit just about any configuration or design that you can imagine. All of our doors are constructed with a 3/8” veneer hardwood skin with a solid wood stave to help reduce the possibility of warping while maintaining their quality appearance for many years.

Kitchens and Cabinetry

Custom cabinetry can include both free-standing and built-in units such as bars, offices, libraries, laundry rooms, kitchens, and more.

Custom Trimwork and Finishing

Custom Staircases

We are equipped to handle nearly any size trim and door package, as well as other wooden parts, in a timely manner and with the highest quality possible. Our finishing process includes the stain color of your choice and two coats of precatalyzed lacquer for all interior finishes. We also offer urethane for an finish when applicable.
